What options are available?
The basic models available today have either fixed arms, drop arm, removable arms, over the toilet or concealed.

What safety cautions are there?
Bedside commodes are lightweight, so be sure to use force straight down on the handles to ensure the commode from sliding or tipping over.

Can I adjust the height?
Most models will allow for height adjustment. Look for pins that allow you to move the seat up or down.

Why would I need drop arms?
The models available with drop arms are for users who will be transferred from a bed or chair to the commode.

Why would I need an over the toilet commode?
Over the toilet or three-in-one commodes can be positioned direction over the toilet to assist in sitting and getting back up. Simply remove the container from the commode and lift the toilet seat before positioning the commode over the toilet.

What is the difference with a standard commode and a concealed one?
The function is the same, except it looks more like a piece of furniture than a commode. Simply return the seat and container when it is needed.
