Bath and Shower Benches Chicago - Bathtub Safety Supply, Bath Shower Chair - Wheeling, IL
What are the options available?
Bath/ shower chairs available with or without a back and transfer benches.
What is the difference?
Bath and shower chairs are designed to allow a patient with difficult standing to sit while taking a shower. They are best used with a handheld shower versus a standard shower. The desire for a back to the chair is the user's stability to sit up. Transfer benches are used to patients to laterally move into the bath from a seat or wheelchair. Two legs of the bench will be positioned outside of the tub.
How do I install these?
There is no installation needed, simply place the bath chair or transfer bench into the tub. They typically have rubber tips on the bottom of each leg to prevent slippage.
What safety cautions are there?
Be sure the tub is clean of soap film before placing the chair or bench inside to prevent it from slipping. Since the items are lightweight, be sure to hold equal pressure on either side to prevent tipping. Always provide supervision for an unstable user.
